The SmithLift HDESP (Hydraulic Diaphragm Electric Submersible Pump) was designed for use in low liquid rate (<200BPD / 32m3PD) oil and gas wells to depths of 2,500 feet (760 m). This technology utilizes a positive displacement, double acting diaphragm pump driven by a downhole electric motor.
Production Enhancement
- Maximum drawdown by lowering fluid to pump intake without cavitation
- Pump off control via surface controls (no downhole sensor)
Reliability
- Mechanical erosion (rod wear) is eliminated
- All internal components are completely isolated from well fluid
- Eliminates plunger to barrel solids interference problems
- No chance to plug small vane openings common with low rate ESPs
Reduced Operating Costs
- Documented power savings > 50% versus alternative lift systems
- Very efficient at low flow rates (less than 200 BPD / 32m3PD)
- Requires no routine maintenance
Compact Size
- Length is approximately 8 feet (2.4 m)
- Weight is 120 pounds (54 kg)
- O.D. of 3.75 inches (95.3 mm)
- Fits in 4.5 inch (114.3 mm) casing or larger
- Low surface profile allows installation in environmentally sensitive situations where conventional surface driven pumps are not appropriate
