| Hydra-Jar® AP The Hydra-Jar AP frees stuck drill stem components during drilling or workover operations by jarring both up and down with an impact force controllable by the driller. The jar’s detent system utilizes a unique temperature compensation process to provide consistent impact, blow after blow, and high temperature seals make the Hydra-Jar AP the best choice for hostile drilling conditions. The Hydra-Jar AP gives the driller total control of direction (up or down), force of impact, and frequency of impact, while offering unmatched durability and reliability. The Hydra-Jar AP is balanced to hydrostatic pressure through ports open to the wellbore, ensuring consistent hitting performance regardless of changes in downhole pressure. The tool is also temperature-compensated through the use of a unique detent system. This provides more consistent loading and firing of the jar over a broad range of wellbore temperatures. These features, combined with careful materials selection and field-proven engineering, deliver a uniquely rugged, reliable downhole impact system.
Features and Benefits- Unique metering process compensates for the decrease in detent cylinder oil viscosity as the jar is fired repeatedly, ensuring consistent impact
- Jarring direction, duration and impact intensity are controlled from the rig floor
- Full bore design minimizes pressure losses and provides wireline tool compatibility
- Jar may be run in compression or tension, providing optimized placement in the string
- Safety clamp lets jar make-up, rack and handle like a drill pipe joint, reducing trip time
- Temperature rated to 500°F
- Seals are rated to 20,000 psi
- Circulation rated to 10,000 psi
- Optional Safety-Lok feature prevents the jar from firing accidentally
- Provides up, down or up-and-down impact without torquing or tripping for adjustments
- Performs in every drilling environment; land or offshore, vertical or deviated wells, ultra-deep or ultra-hot wellbores
- Expands options for drilling, coring, cementing, testing, fishing, workover and remedial operations
- Tools make-up and rack like standard length drill pipe
