| Double Diamond Combo Tool
The Double Diamond Combo Tool is manufactured from high-strength alloy steel as a one-piece tool. The unitized construction features two sets of three blade spiraled ribs designed to reduce damage to the hole wall and ensure maximum fluid circulation. The Double Diamond Combo Tool is an extremely effective bottom hole stabilizer where severe crooked hole tendencies are encountered. Features and Benefits
- Diamond enhanced inserts to provide the reaming action necessary to keep the hole in gauge
- Optimized insert spacing to enhance tool performance
- Inserts brazed into the tool body ensuring dependable service and complete repairability
- Type 300 Hardfacing to provide optimum wear resistance and stabilizer blade life
- Tong area between the stabilizers, enabling the bottom stabilizer blades to cover the box connection
- First point of hole wall contact directly at the bit, significantly improving the efficiency of the BHA
- Increased hole wall contact area over a conventional roller reamer/stabilizer tool to allow more drilling weight to be applied, thus improving penetration rates while staying within acceptable deviation limits
Applications
- Packed hole assembly for application in crooked hole drilling (The Double Diamond Combo Tool should be run in the first zone of stabilization directly above the bit.)
- Maintains the tangent section of a directional well using the Double Diamond Combo Tool as part of the BHA
Notes
- Other types of hardmetal wear surfaces are available upon request.
- Nominal rib diameter will be as follows unless otherwise requested: 7 7/8" through 12 1/4" hole sizes are nominal +0, -1/32"
