Operations Manager - Kuala Belait, Brunei
Supervising the day to day operations and ensuring superior service is provided to clients, managing equipment and personnel deployment and ensuring adherence to QHSE policies and practices.

Smith International, Inc is a leading worldwide supplier of premium products and services to the oil and gas exploration and production industry. We currently have an opening for the position of Operations Manager for our Services unit based in Kuala Belait, Brunei.

 

This position will provide relocation assistance to the selected candidate.  

 

Responsibilities

 

This position will be primarily responsible for :-

 

·               Supervising the day to day operations and ensuring superior service is provided to clients, managing equipment and personnel deployment and ensuring adherence to QHSE policies and practices.

 

·               Meeting with clients on a regular basis to advice on operational issues and addressing specific customer requirements.

 

·               Maintaining excellent customer relations and ensuring the growth of all product lines particularly in Cased and Open Hole Fishing, Rhino Reamers, Whipstocks, P&A and  Milling.

 

·               Preparation of all required reports pertaining to sales and operations to regional office.

 

·               Conducting pre and post review of all field operations jobs with field service personnel to further improve performance of future field jobs.

 

·               Instilling a safe QHSE culture through training, identifying and resolving risks to ensure the safety of employees.

 

·                Be receptive to market trends and activities of competitors and work closely with product line managers and internal sales and business development teams to further improve market share.

 

·               Be involved in tenders and quotations where required.

 

 

Qualifications

 

·               High School or relevant qualifications in a technical field. Candidates with a good track record in field operations particularly in Fishing will have an added advantage.

 

·               Minimum 7 years in a similar role with an oil field services company and strong hands-on experience in a managing a workshop and field operations.

 

·               Strong management skills and able to develop excellent customer relations and also management of employees.

 

·               Good communication and interpersonal skills.

 

·               Proficient in MS Office and have a strong sense of numbers.
